We have a busy year ahead of us! The calendar above is the best way to keep track of all of the events and Scribbles in 2025

Off Season Big Events are still in the works. Mark your calendar for September 27 for our second annual TTRPG Fundraiser at Gatekeeper Games. More details will be forthcoming.

A summertime event is in the works, feel excited in advance!

The details for our Off Season Scribbles can be found in the calendar above. for quick reference, we have:

  • First and Third Wednesdays at Dessert Oasis in Ferndale, 4:30-7:30
  • Second Thursdays at Road Less Travelled Books in Farmington, 4:30-6:30
  • Final Fridays at The Office in Royal Oak, 5:00-8:00

You should! No Scribbles near your house? Host! Not at a good time for you? Hosty host host! Leadership only has so many hours in the day, so be the scribble you want to see in the world! We’re counting on you to keep the scribbles flowing.

Discord virtual Scribble: just choose a time not already spoken for on the schedule, and email firstdraftdetroit@gmail.com, or message a board member to put you on the calendar. Then show up ready to work the Sprinto bot!

In person write ins: in person takes a tiny bit more leg work

Choose a date(s): Most write ins happen weekly, but you can choose a one-time deal, if you wish.

Choose a time. You don’t HAVE to choose a time that doesn’t conflict with other write ins. If you’re in a vastly different area, that’s not bad. In general, try to avoid making folks choose. We will not schedule in person write ins that conflict with Big Events.

Choose a place. Good locations for write ins are coffee shops, libraries, community centers, etc. Anywhere where a handful of people can cluster with laptops. It should have wifi and a reasonable amount of plugs. Make note of the parking situation and accessibility of the building. If needed, contact the venue about reserving space.

Show up and be a host. The host of a write in welcomes participants, helps them find seats and plugs, and runs sprints. The vibe of your write in is up to you and the people that come. If you host a recurring write in, we can give you some stickers to hand out. It’s a good idea to bring a power strip and extension cord if you have one.

Once you have your details in place, contact us via email or discord so we can confirm everything and get you on the calendar.
