Hello Drafters! Are you rrrrrrrrrready for GAAAAAAMIIIIIIIIING (loud airhorn noises, big poofs of confetti, etc.) We sure are! Second Annual Game Day Fundraiser Are you pre-registered? It’s this weekend, Saturday September 27 at Gate Keeper Games in Berkley (3961 12 Mile Rd, Berkley, MI 48072)! The event itself runs from 1-5 PM, though the store opens at noon. If you want to show up around 12:15 and do some light shopping, we won’t mind (and neither will the store). We’ve got games galore (nine! count ‘em, nine! tabletop games, along with board game island) and plenty of fun and friends. We’re also going to have snacks available, including fresh-baked goodies…

Hello Drafters! It’s time to heat up your writing this summer with our Summer Frenzy! It was great to see some of you on Saturday at our Kickoff picnic at Starr-Jaycee Park in Royal Oak! Hello Drafters, By now you’ve likely seen the email or video sent out by NaNoWriMo. As you know, we originally started as the Detroit region of NaNoWriMo, so we certainly have a lot of feelings wrapped up in the shutdown. We, the Board of Directors for First Draft Detroit, are saddened by the shuttering of an organization that meant so much to us–and a lot of you–for so long. Despite the controversy of recent years, NaNoWriMo was ultimately responsible for bringing this community together.
