IT’S TODAY! WE’RE PLAYING TODAY!! PREREGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. WE HAVE TONS OF SPACE AVAILABLE AT ALL OF THE TABLES, SO WALK IN AND PLAY WITH US TODAY!

Join us for an afternoon of fun and games to raise funds for our 2025 Frenzy!

• What: A game day extravaganza, complete with bake sale and nerd auction.
• When: Saturday, September 27th, 12:30-5:50pm
• Where: Gatekeeper Games 3961 12 Mile Rd, Berkley, MI 48072
• How: You make a donation, which will help us fund the 2025 First Draft Frenzy, and then spend the afternoon playing a fun game!
• Why: Because we’re a proudly nerdy bunch, and there’s nothing better than a day of snacks and slinging dice.

First, take a look at the 2025 GAME DAY CATALOG. A slate of incredibly talented GMs have volunteered their time and talents to bring a wide variety of RPGs. The catalog may be subject to change, so feel free to check back.

Then, the BEST thing you can do is preregister! Players who preregister have first choice of games, and the more people who preregister, the more easily we can plan the flow of the event. After you’ve perused the catalog, take a quick stop at the DONATION page to make a contribution to the organization. We’re asking for a minimum of $10. If you’re able to give more, we appreciate every dollar. Grab a screen shot of your donation so we can match it with your registration.

THEN go to the REGISTRATION FORM. We’ll get a little information from you, and you can tell us a little bit about which games you might like to play.

That’s it! Then all you have to do is show up ready to play! Preregistering means you can arrive a little earlier, secure the seat for a higher ranked game, and get first dibs on the freebies that we have to give away (we have stickers!).

I don’t know for sure if I can come. CAN I just walk in day of?

Absolutely! We have tons of space, and the chances that the games will all fill up before day of are very slim. Possible, but slim. If you want to play it safe, or if you have a REALLY strong feeling about which game you want to play, preregistering is the best plan. If that’s not an option, please still come!

I like the idea of games, but TTRPGs not so much. Can I still come?

Yes! Our newest event at Game Day is Board Game Island. Board gamers can hang out and rotate between a selection of board games, with some GMs on hand to help out as needed.

What’s the Nerd Auction?

A silent auction of nerdy fun stuff, like dice, fantasy artwork, gaming accessories, etc. Bids will open at the beginning of the event, and close after the games are done (about 5pm). If you have a fun nerd thing you would like to donate to the auction, get in touch with us at firstdraftdetroit@gmail.com

What about the bake sale?

Games need snacks! A classic bake sale of tasty treats to snack on while you game, or maybe just to take home for later. Items in the bake sale are on a “pay what you want” model. Drop a buck or two in the jar, or send us a little something digitally, and take what you want.

If you would like to contribute something to the bake sale, get in touch with us at firstdraftdetroit@gmail.com. Items should be individually wrapped, easy to eat neatly at a table, and labeled with common allergens.

If I can’t come game, can I still stop by to see the bake sale and auction?

Sure! Shop around the game store, get a snack, and bid on some fun nerd stuff! Just be aware that you have to be present to win auction items, so if you want to bid but not hang out all afternoon, plan to come at the end.

What’s the shop like?

Gatekeeper games is a treasure of a gaming store in Berkely, Michigan. A fun selection of products, fantastic playing facilities in the back, and a bar! So if you want a cold Coca Cola, or to responsibly enjoy an adult beverage, there you go!

There is a small amount of parking behind the shop, and additional parking down the side street.
